Aishwarya Sharma took her fans by shock when she announced her exit from one of the most popular shows on Star Plus, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. The actress is popularly known for her role as Pakhi aka Patralekha and her character is expected to have grey shades. Now, the actress has not only announced her exit but she also announced her participation in the upcoming reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 13. In an recent exclusive interview with Business-mortgage, Aishwarya confessed that she wanted to move on and explore something new after being Pakhi on screen for almost three years.
Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 is a popular stunt-based reality show where contestants are given dangerous challenges that they will have to fulfil as they learn to overcome their phobias and fears. “I can say because I didn’t think about Khatron before because I just got this opportunity. I left Ghum… (Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein) and I got it. So, this is the thing. I didn’t think about it. I just took it. I wanted to face my fears and wanted to do something new and adventurous,” she told Business-mortgage.
Talking about the show and its immense popularity, Aishwarya Sharma also mentioned how the show had created an image of her as Pakhi in real life. “The show was very very popular. I am really glad that I got it and the success. Everybody knows me as Pakhi, but I want to change. I honestly don’t want to prove myself that I’m not Pakhi in real life. I’m done with that because people don’t understand they’ll say whatever they want to say. So definitely, I won’t miss being Pakhi again, because I want to do something different in my life. I can’t keep doing the same thing in loop and then I can’t do anything else or play other characters. So I had to get out of my comfort zone.”
She also continued by stating that this is a chance where audience can see her as the real Aishwarya Sharma and not by her onscreen image as she added, “Here you don’t have to act. People can see you in your real life – like they see me as Aishwarya Sharma not Patralekha. So, I’ll be glad that they can see me that way. I want them to see me in this version.”
Aishwarya Sharma asserted that this is the unique opportunity she was looking for, adding, “I’m just going there to face my fears. As for winning, everybody wants to win and I’m one of those people too.”
In the same breath, the actress also confessed that she has prior experience of doing some stunts. Aishwarya Sharma revealed that she has done kickboxing in the past but has not practiced it for the past few years. “I used to do kickboxing and everything before, which I have not done in three years. I now started again because of Khatron. I do know that the stunts and actions are different here in Khatron Ke Khiladi. We can’t just fight like a wrestler here, so I have to prepare myself mentally for those stunts. Mentally yes, I can say I am strong, But I will say that I’m trying my best,” added the actress.
