MUMBAI: The reality TV show, Bigg Boss, has made headlines in all seasons of its run, mostly because of the controversies it creates and the choice of contestants. Some of these contestants have had dark pasts which have stayed hidden from the public eye. These contestants have also added to the list of controversies the show is known for. Let us now take a look at these contestants.
Shalin Bhanot
Shalin Bhanot is a popular actor known for his role as Keshav in Zee TV’s Naagin and his participation in MTV Roadies in 2004. He was married to Dalljiet Kaur and they have a son together. However, Dalljiet later accused Shalin of domestic violence and filed for divorce. She had placed charges of abuse and alleged demand for dowry. However, the court dropped all charges against him. He later shared that he just wants his son to get the love of both parents. Recently on Bigg Boss 16, when Shalin alleged that MC Stan is disrespectful towards women, fans snapped back at him and reminded him of his past.
Sajid Khan
Sajid Khan has been accused of sexual harassment during the #MeToo movement by 9 women. The DCW chairperson demanded that he be immediately evicted, whereas FWICE supported Sajid Khan by stating that he has to earn and that he has served his punishment, which was a year-long ban. The ban was lifted in March 2019.
Raja Choudhary
Raja Choudhary was married to actress Shweta Tiwari for 7 years. They have a daughter together, named Palak Tiwari. According to reports, out of the 7 years that they were married, Shweta wanted to get divorced from Raja for 6 years. The actress said that he had an alcohol issue and was very abusive.
Zubair Khan
Zubair Khan is a filmmaker who participated in Bigg Boss 11. He had claimed to have underworld connections, saying that he was forced to marry Dawood Ibrahim’s sister, Haseena Parker’s daughter. His claims were reportedly not corroborated.
Manveer Gurjar
Apparently, Manveer Gurjar was married before entering the Bigg Boss house. Manveer was a part of Bigg Boss 10 and won the season as well. His father later divulged that Manveer was married and had kids.
Arhaan Khan
In Bigg Boss 13, Arhaan Khan’s past was revealed by Bigg Boss himself. Salman Khan said that Arhaan was married and had a child. Rashami Desai had no idea about this. Arhaan later revealed that Rashami was aware of his past.
Bunty Chor
Devinder Singh, alias Bunty Chor is an infamous robber and is currently serving a jail sentence. He attempted suicide In 2017. Bunty was evicted from the show owing to his violent behaviour.
