Hiba Nawab became a household name for her portrayal of Elaichi in SAB TV’s show Jijaji Chhat Par Hai.
The actress reprised the role in the show’s second season as well, and fans showered all the love and support on her for the same.
However, after running successfully for a few months, Jijaji Chhat Par Koi Hai recently went off-air.
We got in touch with Hiba, who got candid about the show and much more.
Acting and debut show as a child artist…
I started my career with SAB TV. I did the very first show of my life with this channel, which was Lo Ho Gai Pooja Iss Ghar Ki. It just happened by chance. I was in Mumbai for a vacation. We all love to try our luck in the glamour world. I did and I got a chance. My father was very keen on it so I tried. I was just 11 when I bagged the show.
Breaking the image of an on-screen character…
This happens a lot. Even if I watch shows as an audience, watching a particular character for a very long time gets me used to it. But what one can do is take a break from a project for a while. Once you are done with that show, you can do small projects like music videos or ad films or collaborate with some good brands. This break is pretty good. Then you can get back and choose the next project wisely. You need to set a bar for yourself and the audience. I do really like to pick some challenging roles. I have been in touch with the producers and have got to know about new roles, so let’s see how it works.
Rejecting web shows…
I was offered a lot of web shows but I had to turn them down. The makers called me for an audition and were interested to get me on board, but I couldn’t even say yes to the audition because every time they called, my first question was about the bold scenes or something vulgar. And there were. I loved the script, as it was very challenging. I had to say no because I was not comfortable. However, having said that, as we all know, a person keeps evolving. So, it’s not that I’ll never do it. Currently, I am not keen on doing such bold content. Acting and debut show as a child artist…

Hiba further revealed that she was chilling for a few days after she wrapped up the shoot of her show.
However, she has some interesting projects lined up that include a music video and some short films.
The actress will then travel somewhere and get back into action with her next show.
Well, till Hiba makes her comeback on the small screen, we can definitely enjoy seeing her in the music video.
Hiba has previously worked in shows like Tere Sheher Mein, Meri Saasu Maa, Bhaag Bakool Bhaag, and Crazy Stupid Ishq, among others.
Stay tuned for all the latest updates.
