Priti Sinha, producer at Reel Life Entertainment, comes with creative roots, what’s with her father being producer Vinay Kumar Sinha. The lady, who debuted as producer with &TV’s horror series Darr Sabko Lagta Hai, feels that her show got audiences because of Bipasha Basu.
“We wanted Bipasha because it was the new trend for television. That is one of the reasons Rajesh Iyer, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K, creatives and I selected her. Bipasha is the horror queen and a wonderful girl. She grabbed eye balls for our show and we got our loyal audience because of her. We brought in Tigmanshu Dhulia as he had a different format and we thought of trying something unique,” she said.
Darr is your first show on TV, so why did you start with an episodic and not a daily soap?
She quipped, “As a producer, I haven’t done a weekend show. Quality-wise, I wanted the production value to be high. I wanted to work hard to make a mark on Indian television.”
When asked about her plans to come up with a daily show, Priti said, “I haven’t thought of that yet, but would love to do a comedy or thriller show.”
A lot of people are becoming producer so is it easy money or love for the craft? “I worked outside the industry for six long years and then joined my father. For me, it was a passion. In 2002, we started Reel Life Entertainment and came up with the movie David (2013).”
Since you are young and a lot of people are ready to compromise for roles, how do you deal with the unwanted attention? “I am from film background and producers do not compromise. I started at a young age but never had any problems. Having my father in the industry was actually a boon for me,” ended the producer.
Good luck Priti!
